"Hiiiiii." Finally joined!

Journal Entry: Tue Apr 14, 2009, 4:45 AM
*morphing out of the shadows mysteriously*

Well, hello there. Nice to meet you all!

After years of lurking around DA I've finally opened an account and posted the first batch of photography. I think I'm getting the hang of this place.

Current 'To do' list:

- add more doll pictures
- learn how "friending" and "watching" works
- make a custom style for this journal
- drink lots of tea

  • Reading: "Superman: World of New Krypton" comic
  • Watching: "I'm Not There" movie
  • Eating: chocolate

Hello, hello!

I'm Locksley and my DA is a place to post my doll, action figure and dollhouse photography. It's been my passion and a serious hobby for years. My main interests are anything dolls, especially 1/6th scale, miniatures, figurines, Japanese gashapon (mini toys from vending machines) and doll clothing/fashion in general.

One of my other hobbies that I've only started this year is collecting artist sketch cards (or ACEOs) of my favourite people and characters (comic book & movie characters especially, such as the Joker, Superman and Batman).

From time to time I also collect original comic book art (Superman is my main focus).

I'm still pretty new to DA, though I've been visiting it for years. There's so much I need to catch up on! Whoo!

Up till now Flickr's been the only place besides my doll website that hosted my doll photography, so I'm excited to be a part of the DA community as well. Hopefully I can make friends here just as I did on Flickr.

~ Locksley

Lovely gallery! You put life in your photos when there's no life given (dolls).

You should do more dramatic lighting effects like with the "Joker: watching you bleed". Try using smaller light sources...like flashlights or pen lights/keychain lights (these will keep the light from washing away all the shadows and give you more direct shadow work.

I enjoy the variety of settings and type...some photo ops-like while others outdoor (like home photos)...some 'head shots' like for actors/singers...even with autographs...very cute!! :XD:

:iconthelocksley:
Thank you, BohemianWeasel, and you're welcome for the faves! Yes, I'm constantly having teaparties with my dollies. ;) They do have their own cups and saucers so it's easy, hehe.

*accepts some cake* Thank you!
